The Racer X Fabrication MR2 coolant neck for the 1991-1995 Toyota MR2 is an OEM replacement and cleans up the engine bay. The Racer X coolant neck eliminates the remote mounted radiator cap and assembly from the strut tower. The radiator cap is relocated to the top of the coolant neck and still retains the highest fill point position. The coolant neck uses a similar design as the OEM component, it keeps an indirect flow path not found in any other aftermarket coolant necks on the market. This design prevents false radiator cap actuation due to the stalk being pushed forward out of the flow path from the coolant tree.
The coolant neck is machined entirely from 6061-T6 aluminum and is comprised of 3 components: the body, radiator cap stalk, and hose barb. These components use industry standard o-ring boss seal fittings, respectively these sizes are -12AN, and -16AN. The small detail allows complete flexibility of the coolant neck. Want to reroute your long OE coolant line that routes to the cabin wall and then below the car? This can be done by simply removing the hose barb fitting in favor of -16AN male fitting with a hose end and line. Finally, we added an additional 1/8 NPT port for simple installation of an aftermarket water temperature gauge, gone are the days of cutting your OEM coolant line to add an inline component for your gauge.
