The Racer X Fabrication engine rotation delete kit for the 2013+ Chevy Sonic was made to drastically reduce the rotation of the engine under load. It’s no secret, the Chevy Sonic was sold with only 3 engine mounts this leads to a significant amount of engine rotation which is great for daily driving, but absolutely horrible for performance. We decided an engine brace was the best way to eliminate the engine movement under load, this allows you to keep the spongy OEM mounts while still attaining the performance that is desired without all of the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) that happens with aftermarket engine mounts or the transmission mount.
Construction
The engine mount is CNC machined from 1” thick 6061-T6 aluminum and locates on the side of the engine. The chassis brace is CNC lasered from 8 GA 1018 CRS, and CNC formed for a precision fit to the chassis by the transmission mount. Finally the brace is formed and threaded and uses chromoly rod ends to reduce the rotation between the 2 mounts.
