The Racer X Fabrication coolant neck for the 2012+ Chevy Sonic 1.4L, 2011+ Chevy Cruze 1.4L and 2015-2019 Chevy Trax 1.4L is a direct replacement for the OEM coolant neck. If you have ever found that you have become stranded in the middle of nowhere thanks to the trusty OEM coolant neck rupturing, you might want to consider upgrading to the Racer X cast aluminum coolant neck. We added a 1/8" NPT port which can be used with an aftermarket temperature gauge or plugged with the provided hardware.

This part is fantastic. I know there's a cheaper cast aluminum version out there, but this one eliminates an additional common leak point by machining the top fitting in to the unit, as opposed to the cheaper version maintaining the stock press fit connector that often leaks.

Cons:

Fit was exact. No more concerns with leaks because of small plastic cracks that get bigger. I have the stainless coolant tank, so we are winning the battle over the bane of this engine. A thermostat housing would complete the bolt-on battle. Now I sound spoiled...
