    The Racer X Fabrication carbon fiber rear end links for the 1991 - 1995 Toyota MR2 are perfect for enthusiasts who are looking for more clearance over OEM rear end links and want adjustability. The rear end link bodies are made from carbon fiber and feature teflon lined rod ends with pressed studs. The completed assembly increases stiffness and strength over the OEM rear end links.

    • Why carbon fiber?

      The majority of end links on the market are made from aluminum (including Racer X), but aluminum has a draw back. The body of the end link is typically solid, which leads to increased weight, but allows for adjustability. The benefit of carbon fiber is that it allows us to decrease weight while maintaining the strength of the end link assembly. For longer end links the weight savings can be considerable, while shorter end links will see less of a weight savings.

    • Fatigue Testing

      We set out to find the limits of our carbon fiber end links with a 3 million cycle durability test. A spring was selected to simulate 100 lbs of force on the end link assembly per cycle. This low load is much more similar to the rigors of driving, where the sway bar has low loading effects on the end link bodies. Carbon fiber is typically defined as having ultra high fatigue limits, and we found no difference here with our testing.

    • Tensile Testing

      The purpose of tensile testing a linkage is to find the yield strength of a selected specimen. In this case, we needed to determine the strength and failure point of our carbon fiber end links. We tested our carbon fiber end link assemblies with repeatable results occurring between 4400 and 4500 lbs of force. The amount of force needed to cause failure from the end link assembly is typically more than a sway bar can exert.
