The Racer X Fabrication intake manifold for the 2011-2016 Chevy Cruze was designed to increase power in the mid to high RPM range. The manifold starts with a CNC machined intake flange that features common sized o-ring gaskets for a perfect seal to the cylinder head. The flange is angled for the correct fuel injector location and matches the OEM placement. We also added a NPT port to allow for a simple PCV fix over the OEM intake manifold. This allows use of our optional PCV kit or you can use an existing kit that you may already have. The runners are formed to the intake manifold flange and base plate and TIG welded in position. The base plate features CNC machined velocity stacks and fuel rail mounting points that work with the OEM fuel rail. The plenum is sized accordingly to the engine displacement and will work well with additional aftermarket components. The vacuum plate utilizes the OEM MAF sensor and also adds (2) 1/8 NPT ports, (1) 1/4” NPT port, (1) 3/8 NPT port. Finally the throttle body flange is CNC machined to work with the OEM throttle body and features a smooth transition into the plenum for optimal airflow into each cylinder.
The intake manifold matches OEM performance in the low RPM range and increases in torque and power till 6000 RPM. Total gains of 11 whp, and 10 ft/lbs of torque, with increases through the majority of the RPM band. Testing was completed on a completely stock 2014 Sonic RS with only the intake manifold change, these results are with no tuning and using the OEM ECU.
