The Racer X Fabrication shifter bushings for the 2012+ Chevy Sonic were designed to eliminate additional movement in the shifter. During shifting, the assembly moves up to 1/16 of an inch. This movement creates less than desirable feedback with spirited driving and can lead to missed shifts or grinding. The CNC machined shifter bushings we provide will reduce the movement from 1/16 of an inch (0.062”) to 1/128 of an inch (0.007”). This reduction in movement allows for clean and crisp shifting in your manual transmission.
Construction
The OEM shifter assembly uses steel inserts surrounded by a rubber grommet. This grommet produces spongy shifting with little or no feedback. The Racer X Fabrication shifter bushing kit is made using 6061-T6 aluminum and keys into the OEM shifter assembly, this kit eliminates the rubber grommets and provides improved shifting with necessary feedback.
