The Racer X Fabrication intake manifold for the 2012+ Chevy Sonic and 2011-2016 Chevy Cruze was designed to increase power in the mid to high RPM range. The manifold starts with a CNC machined intake flange that features common sized o-ring gaskets for a perfect seal to the cylinder head. The flange is angled for the correct fuel injector location and matches the OEM placement. We also added a NPT port to allow for a simple PCV fix over the OEM intake manifold. This allows use of our optional PCV kit or you can use an existing kit that you may already have. The runners are formed to the intake manifold flange and base plate and TIG welded in position. The base plate features CNC machined velocity stacks and fuel rail mounting points that work with the OEM fuel rail. The plenum is sized accordingly to the engine displacement and will work well with additional aftermarket components. The vacuum plate utilizes the OEM MAF sensor and also adds (2) 1/8 NPT ports, (1) 1/4” NPT port, (1) 3/8 NPT port. Finally the throttle body flange is CNC machined to work with the OEM throttle body and features a smooth transition into the plenum for optimal airflow into each cylinder.

The intake manifold matches OEM performance in the low RPM range and increases in torque and power till 6000 RPM. Total gains of 11 whp, and 10 ft/lbs of torque, with increases through the majority of the RPM band. Testing was completed on a completely stock 2014 Sonic RS with only the intake manifold change, these results are with no tuning and using the OEM ECU.

Intake Manifold and Fuel Rail

Just recently installed the RacerX Intake Manifold and Fuel rail.
Absolutely please with the build quality/fit and finish. Runs and performing great so far, the power delivery is def noticeable over a stock non-ported manifold.
For anyone looking to go with this over to stock unit I would highly recommend it. Take your time installing it and if you get the billet fuel rail with it, plan out your fittings ahead of time (note that the exist fuel disconnect line is 3/8 female/female flexible line, you can either keep it or go-to a custom setup). Mocking it up a few times helps, especially with the fuel rail fittings. I chose to install the manifold first then the rail for easy access to to the bolts.

Great product. Welds look amazing and it looks great under the hood. Install took around 6-7 hours for me total as it was the biggest mod I have done thus far and its a pretty tight space so there was a lot of installing and un-installing to get it all in. I had a bit of trouble with one of the fittings not threading on as the first thread was rolled over ever so slightly and just would not go on. I was also shipped an extra 5/8" hose that should have been 1/2". Both of these were no biggie as I was able to pick both the fitting and the hose for under $5 but always check the parts before you get halfway into an install and cant run to the store!

Overall, this kit is great. I love when kits come with all new hardware and it was nice to be able to see the instructions before ordering! Will be watching for new products from RacerX !

This wanted to say that the intake manifold is a nice part and I love it I am glad I order it and got installed on my Chevy Sonic rs.. racerx has great customer services and support they are a really good company can’t wait to see what else they make for Chevy Sonics and stuff.......
